*Tuface- African Queen: if this song was chosen as the soundtrack for an American love flick “Phat Girls” which came out as a chart buster, then little can we say. 2face Idibia who has been described as the African pop king didn’t fail to deliver in this one which was a massive hit in his debut.
*Dbanj-Fall in love: Now the koko master is not known for love ballads but an attempt to give the lovers a memorable number really paid off as this song continues to linger in minds especially for fresh and budding lovers who are just going into relationships. One wouldn’t also forget in a hurry the video for this track which featured screen diva Genivieve and which began a relationship tail or perhaps rumors of a relationship between both entertainers. Kudos should also go to Don baba Jay himself for the wonderful instrumental.
*Wande Coal-Ololufe: Wande’s first coming was in form of a classical yoruba inspired number which quickly turned into a lovers’ favorite. Years after its release ‘Ololufe’ continues to stir minds and can be credited as one of the most recognizable love tracks in this part of the world.
*Davido-Ekuro: Just when we were all contemplating whether he was a fluke or not especially after his massive success with ‘Dami duro’,Davido pulled a fast one on us all with the release of one of the most accepted love tunes of 2012. The video didn’t do badly as well and the song also comes to mind especially during this valentine season.
*Gabriel G-Fresh Afolayan-Kokoro Ife: More established actors tried but failed and everyone thought it was an impossible feat for a Nigerian actor or actress to make a succesful inroad into the music industry but this son of Legendary thespian ‘Ade Love’ turned legend on us all with the release of this wonderful, highly thoughtful song ‘Kokoro Ife’ or Love bug. This is NEU’s special gift for you. The singer also recently released yet another ballard for lovers in the spirit of the season titled ‘Awelewa’.

*BankyW-Yes/No: If there is a Nigerian act who has consistently represented lovers, its no other than Mr. Capable himself as he has proven himself to be the Naija’s lovers advocate with incredible sing along numbers which can be employed by shy lovers *winks. His newly released Yes/No didn’t fail to deliver as a whole lot was expected from the embattled EME boss who have spent most of his time in recent past to nuture his label and its signed acts.
*Mi ft Waje-One Naira: One important thing about this song is that it is highly revered by guys while girls think its too covetous. Anyway this might not be unconnected to the message of the song which preaches true and unconditional love with a frown against material gains. Waje really did justice to the hook.
*WizKid-I love my baby: Wizkid’s debut album was highly acclaimed as one of the most succesful debut in recent times and one track which stands is ‘Love my baby’ which reminded us all what a pure heart could do. This song actually filled the love department which has been vacant since Wande’s ‘Ololufe’ and did Wizzy deliver, the answer is actually obvious.
*Psquare- Ifunaya: Although the pop duo has continued to affirm that the song was made an unknown special one but it has not deterred young lovers from admonishing this great record. Psquare is absolutely one of the most highly acclaimed acts in this part of the world especially when it comes to songs of the heart and this track further establishes that fact.
*Kelly Hansome- Qpib ball: Although very unpopular but this song by controversial singer Kelly Hansome can be described as the perfect valentine song which would forever remain evergreen. One only wonders why Mr. Hansome didn’t really promote the song which could have actually helped put his dwindling career back on track.
